Do I need any special accommodations to prepare for delivery?Updated a month ago
Delivery requirements depend on whether your shipping address is commercial or residential and the type of freight being delivered. Here’s what you need to know:
Commercial vs. Residential Deliveries
- Commercial Address: Typically has loading docks or forklifts for unloading. No extra services are usually needed.
- Residential Address: May require a liftgate service if a loading dock or forklift is not available.
Additional Delivery Services (If Needed):
- Liftgate Service: If your location does not have a forklift or loading dock, a liftgate lowers heavy shipments from the truck to the ground.
- Extended Delivery Options: Some remote locations may require special arrangements.
- Appointment Scheduling: For LTL freight, carriers may call ahead to arrange delivery.
Important Notes:
- The carrier is responsible for curbside delivery only and will not bring freight inside.
- We will notify you if any additional heavy equipment (such as forklift extenders) is required for your delivery.
- For LTL freight deliveries, someone must be present to sign for and inspect the shipment upon arrival. If any damage is found, it must be noted on the delivery receipt before signing.
